Are your modules encrypted?

Yes, we have encrypted some parts of our commercial modules, this is standard practice for most php 3rd party providers. You will need ionCube decoder\loaders installed on your server to run this encrypted code. For further details on how to install ionCube visit http://www.ioncube.com/loaders.php. In many cases, your hosting company will already have the correct loaders installed on your server, do check with them beforehand.

I would like to try your product first, is this possible?

Yes, all our commercial modules come with a 15 day FREE trial license. The trial version is identical to the full commercial version (there are no functional differences), the only restriction is the 15 day trial period, after this time, the module will stop working. To re-activate your module, simply purchase a commercial license and update your license details in your websites admin area.

Is it possible to see your modules in action first?

How can I install your modules?

All of our modules come complete with their own set of installation instructions. Once you extract your module's zip file, open the "TXS_Readme" folder and follow the instructions contained within here.
At the xCart Store, we also offer paid installation service, useful for customers that don't have time to perform the installation themselves or for those that are not familiar with modifying x-cart source files and modifying mySQl tables.

I have installed the module now, what do I do next?

Once you have received your license key (from the "My Licenses" section or via email), the next step is to assign it to your module. The module will only work on the domain name you specified during checkout or when requesting the trial version. Full activation instructions are listed here »

I can't understand how to use your modules. Where can I learn?

You can view our online Video Tutorials - most of features are described here. Also you can use our community forums to seek assistance or contact us on support@thexcartstore.com.

How about upgrades/updates?

We will inform you about future upgrades/updates.

If my trial license is over - should I download and install product again?

No, there is no need to download the product again, as your trial software contains all the features found in the full commercial release. You just need to purchase a license key and update the module details within your websites admin area.

When running your modules, I'm getting JavaScript errors reported in my browser.

We use jQuery javascript library throughout all our x-cart modules. Check your site sources on possible JavaScript library conflicts.

After installing your modules I'm getting PHP errors on my site

There may be several reasons for this:

  • You installed our module incorrectly, please double check the installation instructions and be sure to follow each and every step.
  • Your server could be configured incorrectly, you may need to contact your hosting company to resolve this.
  • You may have found a bug in our module!!! If this is the case, please email us on support@thexcartstore.com and we will fix this problem immediately.

I would like the xCart Store to install a module, what do I do next?

No problem, the first thing to do is to include the installation option when purchasing the template. Next, log into your "My Account" section and provide the necessary server login details, ftp access, phpMyAdmin or cpanel access. Our installation team will need this information to complete the install.

I followed your installation instructions but I can't find the "php source line" in my x-cart sources. What should I do?

It could be possible that you are reading the incorrect installation instructions for your current version of x-cart or maybe you have had some previous customisation performed on your site that has changed some parts of the original source code. If this is found to be the case then maybe you would prefer to have us perform the installation for you? Please contact us for further assistance.

I have installed your module but I can't see The xCart Store menu box in my admin area?

Once you have followed all the installation instructions, be sure to clear your x-cart cache, by going to your Admin Area->Modules->Click Update or click on the following link:
www.yourdomain.com/cleanup.php

What can I expect to receive when I purchase a template from the xCart Store?

Each of our templates comes with the following:

  • NEW x-cart skin folder - containing all source and template files (tpl, js, css, jpg, etc)
  • All Adobe Fireworks master graphics used in the creation of the template (Adobe .png files)
  • Sample Data - optional import script to help replicate our demo site (includes SQL import script and product images)

Can I modify the template?

Yes, you have full control over all template files, graphics, css & javascript code. We would strongly recommend that you only modify the template if you are comfortable working with these files and uploading to your server.

Can I see your templates in action?

Yes, at the moment our first template "Modern Living" is being used on our demo website. We have created a dedicated demo website where we have installed our modules and templates - check it out here »

I'm a web designer, can I use your template on multiple sites?

No, when you purchase a template from the xCart Store, you must specify the domain name of the site where you plan to deploy the template, it will only work on this domain. Each template comes with a single license, this license is transferable but can only be used on a single domain at any one time.

Can I change the domain name assigned to a template?

Yes, log into the "My Account" page and click on the "My Licenses" section - from here you can update the license details for your template. Your template will not function on any other domain except the one listed here.

I'm a web designer, I plan to purchase several templates in the future - do you offer discounts?

Yes, over the coming months we plan to create an "x-cart template club", club members will have access to all templates for a given time period and will have a fixed number of licenses they can use based on their subscription module. We have yet to define the subscription models and pricing structure - but membership to the template club will be cheaper than purchasing single licenses.

I need some extra customisation work carried out on your template, can you help?

How do I install my template?

You have two options:

  • 1. Carefully following the "readme" instructions that come with your template
  • 2. Purchase our template installation service and send us the relevant access details - sit back and relax

What other X-Cart services do you provide

We are always happy to hear from our customers with project requests. We can't guarantee that we will accept every project (based on our existing workload) but we will certainly give you a straight answer and a reasonable quotation.
